What is The Gathering Room?
In the fall of 2024, I felt something placed on my heart to form a space for intentional community. We lived just outside of Nashville, and there were already ample gathering spaces, so I held onto it in my heart and started praying for this to be revealed.
Little did we know that we would be moving to Franklin County, PA in a few short months.
Much has changed since I moved from Chambersburg in 2015, but I noticed one thing was still the same: if you wanted to gather, you’re limited to a church, coffee shop, or community center, usually with strings attached (membership, cost, etc).
The vision for The Gathering Room became more clear –
a multipurpose space made for intentional community building.
The Vision
More than just an open space, TGR will be able to cater to various opportunities to gather:
1. Common Space
Ample tables, sofas, and seating for working, meeting, and fellowship.
2. Garden Space
Planted, cared for, and harvested by and for the community.
3. Sunday Night Dinners
Family style dinners once a month partnering with local farms and vendors.
4. Outdoor Space
Plenty of yard space for playing, picnics, and outdoor events.
Rentable Space
To generate income for TGR to remain an open place for others:
1. Office Spaces
Semi-permanent rental opportunities for entrepreneurs, therapists, or makers.
2. Meeting Rooms
Space for parties, homeschool co-ops, classes, or just as needed.
3. Coffee/Café
While not the main focus of TGR, a portion of the building could include a coffee bar/café.
4. Venue
Some sort of additional building on the grounds to be rented as a small wedding/event venue.
Get Involved
While I have started an initial conversation with the Small Business Development Center, here are the ways you can get involved and help bring the vision to life:
1. Partners
Connecting like minded individuals and businesses to TGR.
2. Finances
This is definitely not a one-man show. Financial partners and investors are definitely needed!
3. Property
Nothing can really take off without a space, so if you know of somewhere that fits the bill, send it my way!
4. Prayer
Most importantly, join me in praying that God’s timing and hand is in and through TGR.
